Xi and Putin reaffirm their partnership in Beijing
The two leaders promoted strategic coordination and criticized unilateralism, even as disagreements over the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline persist

Just a few days after Trump met with his “friend” Xi Jinping in Beijing, the Chinese leader this week hosted Russia’s Vladimir Putin for his 25th visit to China, complete with a similarly pomp-filled welcome: red carpets, a ceremony outside the Great Hall of the People, a military band, and children waving flags.
In the year marking the 30th anniversary of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, Xi Jinping praised the two countries’ “longstanding friendship” and called for the two to “deepen multilateral coordination, further increase coordination and collaboration on multilateral platforms.”
